What is and what fails to last
Each moment we belate
Was already sealed up and done

Another has just begun
Lacking any bearing on a sterile plane
Barren all to come, empty all before
Spinning turmoil, static feign
Our oasis afloat on no ocean to no shore
Infinity in the palm of a hand
Fata morgana of an upward trend
Cold light of day poses its own demand

Transient consciousness never to land
Ticking away in a castle of sand
So trivial seems our relevance
Slips through our hands

Every moment adds one to the pile
Thunderous cascades
Another file into the archive of games
That we shape
These fragments shape the fabric of our “now”
Is this knowledge a gift or a poison?
Recollections are all one, they can't be separated out
From this tesseractic prison
Are we complicit or just numb, manacled by doubt?
My efforts to appreciate drown at an increasing rate
"Enjoy it while it lasts", it seems gets pulverized into the stream
And so my boundless reverence for having my own song and dance
Settles, calmly turning bland, with all the rest into the sand
